You might need to post a short video showing what you are doing and you should then get a pretty quick diagnosis. It can't a big issue!
There are several steps to get right. Are you in G53 (machine coords) or G54 (work coords)? How did you set the material diameter? Did you use G43 to specify the offset for the tool you have called? Did you use the correct Fusion post processor option (depends on whether the tool is in front or behind, in a turret etc)? It's not possible to say what the problem is from what you have said.
There are quite a few Youtube videos showing how to get up and running with Acorn Lathe. While most relate to milling, there are plenty for lathe. I have both machine types running Acorn but like any complex system, it took a while to become confident and competent.
