Thread: Spindle motor recommendations

16 Hours Ago #1
Sorry if this is the wrong place.
After looking around at the various options its left me with even more questions. What I can't tell is which maker is actually good. There's a plethora of inexpensive motors out there but what I don't want to do is buy one that barely lasts the warranty period.
Can anyone point me at a make with proven reliability/longevity?
Spec I'm looking at is ER20/80mm body/air cooling preferred but would consider water cooling/2.2Kw or a little higher/suitable inverter that can be remote controlled.
I have 415v 3 phase at home so powering industrial controls wouldn't be an issue.

A watercooled spindle will last far longer than any brushed motor, plus be far quieter in operation, so I'd personally get a 2.2kw (or lower powered if the size suits better).
I wouldn't bother with 3 phase at 2.2KW, as if the rest of the machine is single phase, it just needlessly complicates things.Avoiding the rubbish customer service from AluminiumWarehouse since July '13.
