I've finally managed to get a nice clean servo movement!

HI, its me from youtube. So from my project I have been collecting analog parts and stuff you might find useful.



1. 6n137 (max input "data" frequency of 10MHz) optocoupler with a current limiting diode. Should be able to take any input voltage from 3.3V to 60V without issue (with the diode). image of circuit attached.

2. digital potentiometer AD5160, when you need to provide an analog output that you cant with a 5V supply DAC.

3. PCAL6416APW is a shift register, but what makes this special is that it has latching input. So you can have a button connected to it (you can have 16 inputs) and when pressed the input latches, the controller reads the shift register (i2c) and when it has read every input, it can then reset the inputs. So you don't have to connect buttons to interrupts and don't have to worry about the controller missing a button press and debounce is not such a big issue with latching input.

4. MCP3208 is a spi (can scan all channels very quickly) ADC with 8 input channels. I am used to the ads11115, but the speed of the i2c and the ads11115 internal per channel conversion takes a while, plus its only 4 channels.

5. FOD3120 is a opt isolated gate driver with a max working frequency of 250kHz to 500kHz with turning on igbts and stuff (max 2.5A current output), so it will handle turning on anything at any speed you will most likely need.

6. Honorable mention viewe transflective display. If you ever need a high resolution display I would recommend one of these. I am currently working with an 3.5inch display with 8080 parallel communication. The screen is capable of 60Hz refresh rate (running 58Hz refresh). It looks so good and being a transflective display it looks even better the more light is shown on it. I am so impressed with transflective displays I am going to get rid of all my reflective displays and just use these (get one from any brand).



Best of all, these parts are all relatively cheap!!


So for my project have a controller (its a stm32 project ) connected to the screen and it will measure rpm (pwm digital signal from ecu), ambient temp and engine temp. Then I will be communicating (canbus) with a different controller next to my throttle body to measure injector pulsewidth, front cylinder, rear cylinder MAP, throttle position, hydrostatic pressure from 2 pressure sensors and both cylinders AFR. There will be a 3rd controller solely for the bluetooth stuff, an esp or a stm32WB. When I data log, it will datalog to a sdcard every 10 to 15ms so I need speed in controllers (some preprocessing on data before it gets stored on sdcard) and communications between all the components.
