Hello everyone!

For a long time I wanted a real metal mill, but it was out of question because I had no space where I had my previous home. However, we found a new property last year and moved in May, so now I have a LOT more space and my own workshop. Even if the area is not huge by some standards, it is 25 m² (269 ft²), it is huge for most hobbyists, at least here in Sweden and the best part is that I am not using a garage or share with other storage area but a real room suitable for a hobby workshop which gives me more liberty to plan my "man cave" as I want.

So a few weeks ago after a long research and considerations I decided to order my metal mill, which is the HBM BF 25 Vario. The machine is basically a copy of the Optimim BF20 Vario. I will not be able to compare the two in any other way than comparing the sizes, dimensions and some other parameters, but as I have seen it, it is a copy even if it is not a 100% similar machine. They did not copy all the things, and actually changed (improved) some things, so maybe "copy" is the wrong word, but anyway, it is too similar to call it anything else. The base is exactly the same, the RPM range as well, but the motor is only 750W as opposed to 850W of the Optimum. I also have no built in work lamp. This is a loss, but no big deal. The arbor is MT3 as opposed to the MT2 of the Optimum. This is a win for me because the MT3 is sturdier, more rigid and thicker. The draw bar is M12, which is the standard for MT3, so that is also good. All in all, so far I am quite happy about it. I am planning several other video also regarding my new mill, but the compulsory "unboxing" is a good start.
