Yes I am using CNC Fusion parts, I have been talking to Michael at CNC Fusion for the last few weeks and he has been very helpful, just waiting for the parts to arrive.
Are the pins you are talking about on the gears at the bottom of the Z drive lead screws?
If so I have seen a few posts on his forum moaning abut not being able to get them out.

  2. The pins are in a number of places and are used to accurately line parts up.
Once you strip it all down, you will see what i mean.
Also you will need some tin snips to trim the metal back to fit the motor.
Yes the Z axis was a pain in the ass.
Also the Z is heavy so i had it on its side when working on it.
