Hello.I have just aquired a Myford A5 lathe. It is in remarkable condition considering its age.I need a new topslide as the male and female threads are worn. Also the tool holder has been modified and is awkward to use.I have seen a Hemingway kits HK1240 topslide and toolholder for a Myford super7 so would it fit my A5 lathe.Just in case it helps the numbers on the machine are Stores number 3A/1252 Lathe number B1318.Could some kind person give me some advice about this problem.Thankyou for looking.Steve.

HI and welcome to the forum. This wouldnt be one acquired off eBay recently? Incidentally there is no such thing as a Myford A5... the A5 is the foundry mark, identifying which foundry cast the bed. The topslide etc from ML7/Super 7 wont fit any of the earlier ML series and I'm guessing what you have is an ML4, but some pictures would help.
