Moving a new mill

It all depends if you have any steps to go up/down.

If it is a straight run, then you could easily use the already mentioned palette truck. If any steps are involved, you need to get more people around you, complete with rolling bars and maybe an engine lift (if it can take the weight when fully extended).

If I remember rightly, your machine is a mill/drill. The best way is to disassemble it, move the bits (head, motor, main bed & column and table, 5 bits if you have a stand as well) then reassemble. You will need to do this anyway, to clean down and set up the machine correctly. I moved my own up a flight of stairs to a bedroom by myself, using a sling around my neck and shoulders, but that was in healthier days.

For my latest machines, I had to get a specialist mover in, at £300 a machine to go from my driveway to assembled in my shop. That is cheap compared to what Chester UK wanted to charge me for the mill, between £1000 & £1200, and they wanted to take out either a roof or wall panel. I suppose you can guess what I told them to do with the quote, and where to stick it.

There is a machine mover on here, supposedly with a good reputation.
