    i will have to think about a new power supply as i might change out the stepper on my rotory table
    and replace it with a servo

    Two things to check...Leaky capacitors,you know when they're leaking a bulge occurs in the top of them.

    Other thing is dry joints,these dry joints register ok when no power is pulled and occur when power is pulled.
