hello, i'm not sure what to say really but i don't really know much about CNC machines or have much experience with using them but i'm thinking about getting or even having a go at building a small one at some point in order to produce PCB's. :)

Hi HypnoToad and welcome to the site. Plenty of info here to help you create a small machine for PCB milling, great for making prototypes.

thanks, I'm having a read around right now, it seems i have a lot to learn! i've managed to gather a few parts already, mainly power supplies and a few stepper motors, now to see what else i need. :)

start with the mechanicals.... then see if the steppers you have will cut it... making a design to fit a stepper usually ends in tears... and don't be too ambitious to start with, think of your first machine as a prototype... you can always re-engineer bits of it later...
