08-12-2010 #1Hi, ive scraped my old idea and have now got a cnc bridgeport boss, which i have scraped the old system to replace with a modern one. i want to use the orginal steppers, but dont know if its worth having high voltage drivers or not?

 Thanks

09-12-2010 #2It may not be cost effective to keep the steppers as servos are reasonably priced nowadays.

Not to mention the lack of speed with steppers to avoid losing steps/position.
