Hi Brian

I noticed your post on Utube about the W300:

I purchased one of these machines 2 years ago but now the controller has become faulty and I cannot contact the seller to buy a new one after trying several times with no response to any emails and the machine has just being sitting for the last 6 months as I can not operate it

I see that you have had to cut a hole in the front of the control, box can you tell me if you were able to find a way to contact the manufacturer or what your resolve for the situation was?

Yes I work full time as an engineer. One of the stepper drivers burnt out as I bumped the axis speed up in Mach which caused the issue.

Between myself and the electronic engineer at work we designed and built a totally new 4 axis PCB. The build can actually be viewed here

The PCB should be up on his website this week.

I modified the housing and added a 60mm fan, relay to switch off the spindle motor.

The motor must be switched on manually before starting the program and will switch off automatically now. Also we got new stepper drivers which have overload (temperature protection) and if they get too hot they will stop rather than burn out as on the older standard ones. We also changed the capacitors as the builder previously used ones which were actually at the limit as regards voltage. Now there is an acceptable factor of safety. We added windings to the transformer also to improve it.

I haven't setup the 4th axis yet but have had it in motion. I will have my new Denford Monday so wont have any need for the router but I find it very sturdy and it has nice travel (309 x 309 x 85).
