tnx for the offer cheekie, yeah I`ll buy a new adapter next week (payday is on the 15th :)
Nice to meet you Sir Morris I`ve enjoyed reading your posts around the board.

Here`s a pic of the Ill fated belt drive system.
If you notice the bars on either side of the Y axis, the plan was to have a quick Z height adjustment should I need it,
crap design really, but (and this is gonna make you laugh) originally the main frame and those adjustable end bars
were part of my barbeque, I had a couple of small chains that would raise or lower the grid and spit by up to 350mm,
worked great for over 2 years, till one day I walked outside with the new cnc project in mind, thought hmm that frame will do for my machine - so off they came, now I`m back to burning the meat

I tell you what tho. that table I have on the machine is great. It`s an Anodised Aluminium extrusion that was bought from Marchant Dice. Paid £90 for a 400 x 375 (he calls it Bed Plate) and when I measured the accuracy on our newly calibrated granite surface table at work, the whole bed plate surface was within 0.02mm of flatness.
