Lead CNC Machinist
Wells Manufacturing is seeking a highly motivated, quality minded, and dependable individual with a minimum of 10 years of CNC machining experience. This position requires a self-starter who has strong problem solving skills, good interpersonal skills, a passion for manufacturing, an instinct for identifying and resolving machining issues, and the ability to continuously improve the machining process, and help our company achieve new goals. This position requires strong experience and confidence in the tool selection, setup, operation, troubleshooting, and optimizing machining performance of CNC lathes and mills.

Duties:
Select tooling required by program, set tools precisely and with maximum rigidity to achieve best surface finish and dimensional repeatability.
Validate Programs.
Optimize program flow so that parts can be run from start to finish without stopping.
Troubleshoot all machining issues such as chatter, chip evacuation, premature tool failure, lack of repeatability, non-desirable finishes, etc.
Conduct first article inspections, ensure machined parts are within drawing specified tolerances, and are cosmetically acceptable.
Strong knowledge of G-Code programming - must be able to make program edits such as feed and speed adjustments, material size adjustments, adjustments for shaft taper, canned cycle parameter edits, etc. Macros experience a plus.
Must be very knowledgeable of cutting tools, tool geometries, chip breakers, insert coatings and grades, work holding strategies, machining methods, etc.
Experience on Fanuc and Mitsubishi controls a plus.
Help others achieve the highest throughput possible. Potential candidates must display a stable and dependable work history. Must be available to work overtime hours during the week and work an occasional Saturday.
