Hi everyone.
I am a newbie to this site and the world of cnc, but it is my intention to build a small desktop cnc machine in the new year, my question today is this, which software is recommended, for use with the mach 3 system, i intend to design my own parts, so i need a cad software package i can integrate with mach 3, and considering the many titles on the market, not to mention difference in prices, ie, Auto Cad, Turbo Cad, etc; it is confusing, can anyone help, i am on a budget therefore i wish to get it right, all your help will be appreciated.
Regards
Ray

For my cad system, I use Draftsight (www.draftsight.com) which is freeware made by the people who make solidworks. It is an excellent 2D autocad lookalike. For cam, I use Sheetcam (www.sheetcam.com) and while it is not freeware, it is reasonably priced and the service by Les Newell the writer is fabulous and he is located in Devon for whatever that may be worth to you.
