Thread: X2 Mill R8 Spindle

Hi guys i just picked up a R8 spindle for my X2 mill changing over from MT3 but i need a bit of help
with the R8 spindle as there in no locating pin in the spindle for the collet
there is a hole through the spindle i recon thats where the pin goes but i am not sure
anyone got a x2mill with R8 spindle who can help me out
i have found some PDFs on line but none show the R8 spindle

Scott i would not bother with the r8 collet pin if that is what you mean? most Bridgeport owners remove it as it is more trouble than it's worth. Tools lock ok without it.
If the nagging gets really bad......Get a bigger shed:naughty:

ok i will give it a go once my bearings comes thanks (trying to make toolchanges easyer my MT3 spindle was a pig to get tools out lol)

I don't have one in mine and don't suffer from tool slip, the pin causes the majority of tool jams so give it a go. A lot of tooling does not even come with a slot either anymore.
If the nagging gets really bad......Get a bigger shed:naughty:

Hi Scott. I used a Bridgeport mill with out a pin for years with no problems at all.
