Thread: Sieg Super X3

  1. I just took the plunge and got me a Super X3 mill.
I will be converting it to CNC later on, but just wanted to get started and will be making Nema 23 and 34 mounts to start with.

I have also ordered a 58 peice clamping kit
    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...m=360086175168
    and a ER40 collet set
    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...m=320201174031
and i am investigating the milling cutters, so any advise on what to buy and what not to buy would be useful?

What else do you suggest i get apart for milling for dummies :)

Also any suggestions on the cnc conversion would be great, I have all the parts to convert it, but if anyone has experience in converting this machine it would be great if you could offer some advice.

    Gary

  2. Thanks, lol.
I think i may upgrade it to one made of MDF :)
No worryied on how ridged it is, i will only be milling ally and plasics.
