    Robin,
    My colonial .02 worth. I bought one several years ago and it worked great for its design purpose.
    HOWEVER, I have now gotten into using a probe to do all my edge and center finding work and haven't used it in quite some time.

    I modified one of these (hope the picture comes through):

    by removing the battery and led and putting a probe wire thorough one of the holes. Then I use an appropriate probe command to find either an edge, top, or center of a hole

    PS: A lot cheaper also!
