. .
  1. I have a Marchant Dice CNC platform (Router type) and looking at raising the gantry a bit. Now besides needing the new side panels, rails and head screw for the added depth of Z. Is there anything that I am missing?

Also from the look of his system it is based on 80/20 components (did not know about those folks till last week, loved my erector set as a kid). If this is a correct assumition, does anyone know which panels he uses in the gantry walls?

The reason for this madness is to add a bit more milling depth and to also allow clamping a piece free of the deck and still have work room.

I will be going through the 80/20 catalog to see if I am right and get a few parts that i can use for setting up clamps and a few other items as is. Only any help in this would be greatly appreciated.

I think Dice (kevin) sell's the aluminum extrusion from Hepco Slide Systems Ltd.

You should have told him your plan, he would have sent the sides you need with the first order im sure.

He has also got the extrusion listed on his website, measure your current gantry sides then match them to whats on his site ?

Drop him an email, dont think he has got the whole Hepco range on his site, watch out for the VAT to.

    Cheers,

    Cheers,
Thanks have looked at both sites and the Hepco does not list the extrusion that I have on the side panels which form the gantry. So will e-mail him and see if he carries it and how best to go about changing out the sides so that i can get the depth that need in Z (cutting depth of 11 -20mm with another 6 - 8mm of area below not being worked on in that cut).

    Thanks Lee,
