What would it realistically cost to have a press made that could make headphone cups ? I was thinking of making some indestructible headphones , I was discussing with my gaming friends and they would be will to pay £200 plus for a set of headphone that where modular and great sounding but would basically last a life time, the only thing when I did my pen on paper drawing I couldn’t really make is the cups for the phones. Could I make a press for ally cups or would I need a cast iron press ? What would it cost to get one made ?

Cheapest and easiest way I'd have thought would be to make the cups by spinning them. If you're looking at thin Ali then should be possible with DIY tools adapted?

Do you have a rough design of the cups, we can see? I don't know what you mean by modular (showing my thickness).

I dont know what i flypress is Jonathan but a quick look on google and yes that would be ideal , its only 3mm ali. I thought of milling one out of steel and then pressing the Ali into it. If they turn out to be good and I can make a profit hopefully i can sell some more :)
Yes I had thought of making some circular cups ( would be really retro) as well, maybe cheaper, not sure though I'm looking for the path of least resitance atm lol
Just hollow earphone cups , I must have 5 pairs in a box jointly costing £300 broken, I suppose I could try and fix them but thats not my point. oscar modular is when you can break it down into smaller pieces and replace the piece easily .. really with standard equipment, say for instance the jack and cable, if you break it normally its hard wired into the earphone, but if it is designed with a Jack at each end and socket on the earphones you can simply buy an off the shelf lead and your back to normal. You can also go from standard earphone plug to RCA if you want, same thing if you have a microphone.
