Were going to be running some Silver Surfer classes soon. Silver Surfers are a community of old folks but big fans of computers.
We want to get our feet a little wet with CNC but not in a big way. As age creeps on the ability to use hand tools is somewhat challenging and as I mentioned, we like computers. Mary wants to cut some shapes in balsa and Meg some picture frames for the family folks. Nyself and a few of the boys want to lean back our our engineering knowledge and cut some reasonable shapes for the model railway and so on.
We havn't a lot to spend as likely the meet up would be to discuss achievements and share ideas. Right now this has been focused on using software solely.
Having done a bit of searching it seems there are some CNC kits out there but we really dont want to be focusing on having to learn how to go find motors and whatever software you need. Would be happy to buy a basic kit for this activity. Any ideas where to look. Before you reply remember we are old gits with strong loyalties to our country so no chinese stuff please. Looking forward to chatting with you all.
Cheerio for now - Big Old Tim
