Ok just gone and had a look and the 1605 i could not risk taking it apart to look. What is interesting is the existing ones in the 20mm nut have 2505/1, 2505/2 embossed on the plugs. I will assume i have number 3 missing. The 2005 also has only 3 plugs and the 1605 has 4.? does it make a difference.

Gary if you are reading this could you shed any light?

    Cheers

    Paul

    PS

the holes are the same size for the plugs on 16 and 20?

  2. did you get them from me?
I have a box of about 50 nuts that need assembling, but are mainly the 1605 and 1610 size. are the ball returns blue or orange?

Hi Gary these are Orange and these came from the over seas shopping arcade i'm afraid ( too good a deal at the time). Do you see any difference between the returns (as long as the pitch is the same) from 16 to 25?

How come you have so many, do you dismantle them intentionally for cleaning? I've found that a surprising number of the one's I've had from China contain small bits of swarf, which is rather worrying.
Old router build log here. New router build log here. Lathe build log here.

I don't have many? The 1605 are on my router, the 2005 are for my mill. These have been spotless and the ones i've bought from Gary are definitely spotless. i lost the balls on the 2005 whilst transfering from the screw to some tube. I ordered a single screw with 2 nuts on it and needed to cut up the screw and mount it in the lathe.

  10. As you have pointed out they are a load of crap and most of my time can be checking them and cleaning them.
Kind of given up on them now and will most likely discontinuing the Chinese ballnuts and standardizing on the better quality Gten range.
Its not just the swarf, but the tolerances of the balls, the crappy wipers and basic build quality.
