Thread: stepper driver tester

Hi All
Does anyone have a design for a stepper driver tester.
I have a driver and stepper that I just obtained and thought I could play with it without putting it in my controller!
A simple pulsing would work I suppose although there wouldn't be any ramping etc.

Lots of simple electronic circuits to output pulses - i.e. a square wave. Using a 555-timer is one easy option... but you might as well just connect it up to the parallel port. Assuming the driver is opto-isolated it's likely to work connected directly.
