What sort of cutting forces should you expect cutting various materials and speeds.
I was basing calculations of cutting mild-steel on hobby equipment of around 30Kg (300N) of resistance as an average - excluding any vibration etc.
Is this roughly right?
Are there any charts anywhere of force vs feed rates for various materials? Very handy for calculating stresses and torques on the various axis.

If you goto FSWizard and put in your planned material/cutter details, it'll give you an estimated cutting force figure along with various other results.

Excellent, that is better than I was looking for! Also looks like I was in the right area with 30Kg
