I have been there and used the Shopbot about 2 years ago they all seem very friendly people. The Shopbot is 8 x 4 and is used for cutting MDF and plywood mainly.
You have to book it up front for a 2 hour slot (pos. 4 hours) on Fridays and Saturdays, the first time you go you have to register and do an induction which take about half and hour then you can use any of the machines apart from the 3 D printer.
I think you are expected to research and read the manuals for the machines as there is no training but help is available.
The cost is also free. Hope this helps ..Clive

Thanks a lot for all the info Clive. Doesn't sound like ali's an option, although always good to know there's a free place where MDF can be cut for prototyping purposes.
Regards,
dsc.
