Hi, I am exactly in the same situation, I've found the best information is on youtube. Search "Mark Lindsay", "Roger Webb", this will lead you to other sites for Mach3 and 6040CNC.
I'm new on this site so all this info may already be here somewhere. I'm using/learning Vectric desktop which is the best thing I've come across so far,
