    I've had a search about but nothing much to find, here's the problem;

    Hiwin HG15 bearings come with a poxy little domed grease nipple, they have a M4 x 0.7 thread, I have a grease gun and grease but what fitting do I need to get grease into them ?

    Not sure what fitting they're meant to take, but in the recent build I just made my own adapters to fit in the thread (M6x1 in my case) and routed tubes to each bearing (and ballnut) so oil can be injected into them. Arguably a bit OTT... it depends how far you want to take it and how easy access would be to the existing fittings.

    I've decided to use grease but that's what I'm thinking, make some adapters. Quite a lot of the large motors I've worked on had extension tubes for the grease nipples because they would have been inaccessible otherwise. It's a daft design on their part I think, if only they were 6mm instead of 4mm. I'm thinking about a right angle adapter made of brass with a 4mm male thread and a 6mm female to take a standard nipple.

    But I didn't want to say that, I want to know what other people do with regard to greasing these and how ?

    Looks tidy and good access to nipples, got a source for these elbows ? I can only seem to find pipe thread fittings.

    Ah I see it just pushes in at both ends. With it being captive in the aluminium plate it can't go anywhere so as long as there's a good seal at both ends it should be fine. thanks.

    I spent an hour or two last week looking for some alternative fittings.
    My Hiwin catalog lists a 90° oil fitting, but I have no idea where to get them from.

    These might be able to be modified into something workable.

    My machine has two Z axis, so I have 8 blocks to grease.

    I also found these.
