I have no real knowledge of plasma but have seen torch height control mentioned several times, there seems to be manual and automatic versions. Some reading here Torch Height Control for Plasma Cutting
If you think about stick welding for example, with other variables constant such as amps, rod diameter, metal thickness, the rod distance still has to be continually adjusted to maintain a proper arc.Last edited by EddyCurrent; 30-04-2014 at 09:56 AM.
