My brother set up the webserver I use - so we just pay the cost of getting the domain name, which <£5/year, plus the cost of electric which is small as it's <5W. I never seem to get round to putting anything on my site though. You could use it that way, but it means learning how to design a website or finding a suitable program to do it for you...

I went with forthhosting as the one I was with pissed me off. I bought a years
hosting off ebay for 99p and they didn't charge me for renewing the domain name!
I have renewed with them since and pay not a lot, I can't remember how much,
    Alex answers questions straight away.
I have another domain, the one I use most, that I moved to a CC freehost about five years
ago, and have only had a few probs in that time. The problems were with their mail server
a few years ago and it hasn't happened since. So free is probably good enough for me.

Just looked it up as CC sounded wrong, that was the free domain names I tried.
    The free hosting is: www.000webhost.com
