DRO backwards

OK so no matter what i do it still reads the same.

If you imaging the table, my pc and keyboard are at the bottom of the table with the back of the screen facing the gantry.

So the 'forward' and 'backwards' oporates the X motors as it should, but on the DRO Y is moving...

and when i hit 'left & 'right' X Dro moves lol

only other thing is to mount the PC to the side of the machine. am i right in thinking that the US have different views on which is X,Y,Z?

got me puzzled
