Just a quick intro before I start with the questions

I come from a wood/construction background, but have done mechanical/metal stuff since I was a teenager... a long while ago.

Reasonably competent with lathes, milling and welding, some fabrication & electrical knowledge, but nothing that is going to help me here I suspect.

Planning a small cnc router, about 750x900 work area for wood (95% I guess) and some non ferrous work.... probably take me a year from now to get it finished I guess.

I have read a large number of the posts here already.. as well as a couple of other sites so thought is was time to say hello and get started
