Thanks guys!
1/4 V cutter 60 degree, 3mm flat depth. Thats the typical i use for engraving soft, hard wood and phenolic plastic. A balance between fine detail, angle, speed, depth and quality look for thin and thick wood. I could say i have engraved thousand of things from credit card size to 1m signs, from arabesque to mandalas and signs, that works for all.
I just speed it 17000 for hard wood and 18000 for very hard wood /ipe and ebony/ and slow at half the feed for phenolic. This is not flat V cutter, its a spiral one.
The profile was done by my favorite 1/4 3 flute straight Kyocera bit at 16000 rpm and 90IPM. i am running short of this one unfortunately, so have to search from where to buy more, cause Drillman1 sells overstock so not always has what i like.
The pictures dont do justice to the perfectly polished bits that last much more than say Freud or similar.Last edited by Boyan Silyavski; 03-04-2015 at 07:21 PM.
