Not all stranded cables are good for drag chains.

I would go for this one: http://www.helukabel.de/en/en/produc...tKey=STD_49620

Thanks! I agree. The Samsung servo cable is much nicer than any cable i have seen. Ok, that seems also hell of a cable. Cant figure how to see the price and buy it though. have to contact them today later.

  5. how much do you need? We have a lot of offcuts of cable that we used to use.
but if you need good quality encoder that is designed for cable chains, then it will not be cheap.
We sell 16 core flexible cable, but it will cost you £8 per meter.

Thanks but for £8/m i will go with original Samsung cable, which is around 5/m in eBay or automation shops.

I need only 1 off cut around 3m, or 1 piece 5m and 3 pieces 2 meters if i am just to solder ends to elongate.

But as i see it I will use the HDMI cable for the moment. the other day i won an auction at ebay for 50m HDMI cable 24AWG for 20 euro, so i could use it to rewire all encoders with one piece cable each.

    Just an update FYI.

As my servos have 9 core and on the Z - 11 core encoder cables it was quite difficult to find proper drag chain cable. It was >3 euro/m for not shielded and 6-8 euro /m for shielded. Or more.

Ok. Long story short, best bang for the buck is the Helucable . Forget about ÖLFLEX or LappKabel , 5 times the price.

Here is what i am buying right now, the 12 core one, for less than 2 euro per meter:

Here is the shielded cable for the proximity sensors:

Hope that helps sb in the future
