Hi all,
Hopefully I've picked the appropriate subforum. It's been a while since I've been active, but I'm presently trying to get my garage sorted out as a workshop, and, ideally, I'd like to install a higher amperage socket (eg., for welders).
I've received one quote so far for installing a single phase (blue) 32A IEC socket which is about £260+VAT, which seems a little steep. The distribution box is in the garage, so it works out at, at most, an unobstructed run of perhaps 4m of cable and £60 (inc VAT) for parts (Type D MCB, isolator, cable and socket).
I am correct in thinking it's expensive or is that about par for the money considering labour and part P registration?
If anyone has had similar work done recently I'd be interested in how much you had to fork out.Last edited by Jess; 23-05-2015 at 11:45 AM.
