a bit more expensive than stepper
Till now i have found cncdrive http://www.shop.cncdrive.com/ , but still need to translate iin my mind what 150W servomotor could do . i am making a small machine prototype and would like to test it with servos that will not break the bank. I believe something around 200W would be ok

Brushed or brushless?
Brushless start at around $450 US. Very little price difference between 200 and 400w.Gerry

It does not matter really.
I found leadshine have some new motor which i did not know of
Integrated servo motors NEMA 23 motor with1000 encoder & a servo drive at one machine can output 2NM Torque
Quite a contenders for what i need them.
