probably like most I cant afford one of these expensive wireless tormach or renishaw probes, so I made my own (with the help of a friend)
I purchased one of these
http://www.tormach.com/product_tts_passive_probe.html
its comes with a long cable which you need to hard wire into you control system to work, it works great but the cable is very annoying. so a friend made a IR sender and receiver that can connect to any control system. I use a pmdx126 and the setup for a probe is dead easy. connect the probe directly to the board and all it does it act as a switch, so mach3 knows when its been triggered or not.
the receiver board just uses a relay as the switch so it can connect to any control board.
heres a video of the setup in action, its a very rough setup just to test proof of concept. next I plan to integrate properly

I have had some Quantum Tunneling Compound for a while now, and my to-do list has a QTC touch probe project (not started - status - don't hold your breath).
