I also have dual 'grates' which catch the material and stops it from entering the coolant. Not perfect but the amount of crap that should be in the coolant is minimal.

I recently purchased and fitted one of the 1/8 ph coolant pumps off ebay to my triac, very pleased with it and the power.

Those are the ones, I can do you a vid over the weekend if you want.
Can't remember what size but they do one thats a perfect fit length wise.
As for power it's plenty of power for me, removes chips out the way nicely
