A thread from the distant past resurrected.I have been using Freecad and I like it in spite of the non intuitive way of working and it pleases me to know that there won't be a switch to a subscription model.Any and all components can be designed using the parameters and updated accordingly and then the assembly module can be used to assemble them. The fun part comes when you use the recursive updating feature and the assembly changes on screen.Since I use the inbuilt LinuxCNC post processor to create cutting files it also means that clicking on the update button sees the toolpath modified just about instantly.I haven't yet found a nesting module and there may well be such a thing under development.
