Hi I am not sure that random strangers, no matter how helpful will be of much use to you.
Your dissertation would be influenced by what course you are doing, (computer engineering? electronics? mechanical? applied mathematics?).
Your area of interest within CNC machining?
Does the dissertation have to be completely new / original research or developing a side branch of a larger ongoing project?
How much time will you have to complete the project?
How much funds will you have?
Will you have access to labs / workshops / licences for expensive specialist software?
Will your project fall within your university's area of interest in it's partnership with industry?
I don't mean to discourage you but your time will be better spent discussing things with your guide for your dissertation, who will have access to all this information and come to a joint decision. I am sure the people with expert knowledge here will be glad to help with specific questions once you decide and get your project started.
All the best.
