I'd be inclined to check out the stuff from Arc Euro Trade, they do state hobby, not industrial but their kit does look good and my experience of buying tooling and parts from them has been excellent,

What kind of metal?
If you're happy to go for something secondhand, and willing to repair/upgrade yourself, have a look at Denford CNC mills. A Novamill may be slightly small, but a Triac should have enough travel.Avoiding the rubbish customer service from AluminiumWarehouse since July '13.

For our actual products we use various types of stainless steel but for prototypes any type of aluminium would be fine, as I know its easier to work with...
