£4.5k for the full kit, I don't dabble in this market so I've no idea of pricing?

P.S. Nice to know you get a Tree! I'd rather have a Hawthorn Tree than a Gan Tree though! ;-)

You think that's too expensive? You're not a Model Engineer are you? :D

Well it's seems lot of money for self assembly KIT that still requires belts, motors, drives etc but got say it's very well spec'd and on first inspection looks capable machine. I see things that wouldn't consider ideal but nothing too serious. For first attempt then Gary and lads look to have done a good job. .

  4. I knew price would be the first thing that same up, but with all things they can be refined. The issue is setting the price right when there is not a lot on the market to the same specifications. We have not skimped on anything and all the linear motion parts are high end to get the specifications we wanted to achieve.

  5. Jazz, if you see something that is not ideal point it out.
I want to know so if it is possible we can change things.

I have missed that. Great looking machine. I have designed something similar and i know price could not be cheaper, having in mind aluminum, machining, parts and so. I am thinking - make it more expensive but offer it turn key. This is obviously a production machine, then people will have money but no time to fiddle.

Out of curiosity, how is it going? Any interest so far?
    project 1 , 2, Dust Shoe ...

  7. Its going ok, had a bit of interest and sold a few, but as i expected every one is slightly different.
We are not aiming at the lower end of the market, infact it makes no sense to, these as a turn key, will be in the £7-£10K range depending on the options.
You will notice that all of the parts we use are higher end, like precision grade profiled rails, C5 or C3 ground screws, servos and all branded switches, relays and safety systems, and as a business we are not going to compromise on anything, because it will end up coming back and biting our asses.
This is a machine we are building at the moment.
We are also only going to be using enclosed cable chains to stop metal swarf getting in and damaging the cables.
This machine also has a cold air gun and timed lubrication for cutting.

That looks very nice, I particularly like the huge slabs of metal standing up at either side, "Monolithic" I think, is the correct description ;-)
You must have different FEA software than all the Johnnies that seem to think 10mm is plenty ;-)
