I'm 77 but I got my first lathe when I was 16, a Myford S7 with which I machined castings for my first mill.
I raced motorcycles in my youth (where did that go?) and my machining efforts were making parts for the bikes. That has not changed much except that now I race classic motorcycles. That is what they now call the bikes that I raced back in the day.

My main machine tools are a CNC Bridgeport mill (CNCed from new) which I bought off a mate when I lived in the US for 3 years, and a JET 12 x 40 lathe which I have just converted to electronic control, not full CNC but close to it with ball screws whilst retaining manual operation albeit fly-by-wire. Then there are the usual drill presses, and several homemade tools like band saw, press, T&C grinder, etc.

BTW. I live in Spain but I grew up in the land of Oz. Moved to the UK to race in the Isle of Man. Didn't like living in the UK so moved to Spain.

Here is a Youtube playlist with some details of the latest "near" CNC build on my lathe.

Here is a pic. of the mill that I built 60 years ago, it has followed me around the world.

Which I turned into a T&C grinder 2 or 3 years ago;
