Anyone know where I could download operation and maintenance manuals for a HLV-H ?

I will get new paper copies when I get the chance but just want to know some basic TLC info ATM

Actually it looks worse then it is. I won't be stripping it down completely (unless I find something very wrong) just cleaning off the congealed coolant and wire-brushing off the rust.

The biggest pain (or expense) is that the four/or five change-wheel gears are missing. Even before I discovered this I had been thinking about an electronic leadscrew idea (i.e. using a servo motor to drive the lead screw phase locked to the spindle - like the latest/last model HLV's) to cut metric and english threads.

Next job is getting the thing (it weighs the better part of 3/4 tonne) off the trailer and into the garage - Time to think like an Egyption.

I'm having to juggle things around to find room. My Ducati (motorcycle) going to have to go in the conservatory (not a universally popular move around here!) . I can't sell or move my little southbend 416 yet 'cos I may need it to fix the HLV!

Another request for info:

Anyone have (or know of) a manual for a Sony Magnescale LH-10 DRO ?

Or even just a clear picture of the front panel? I'm trying to work out what the buttons do, but since I can't read the legends it almost impossible. I'll make a new overlay for the buttons once I've worked out what they do.

I've just been in contact with Sony's distributor, Stanmatic Precision (UK) Limited (Axis Group). They couldn't be more helpful :) They appear to be sending me a paper copy of the manual, gratis.
