That looks like a RJ11 to DB9 you would also need something like https://www.amazon.co.uk/USB-RS232-C.../dp/B00077DJIQQuote:

As Clive said, you need both the cable you are showing, and a USB to RS232 adapter to plug it in to.
Did'nt really old laptops come with a COM port ?
