Can you extend CY cable ( 4 core / 2 core ) by soldering and heat shrinking the individual wires plus the screen? Or is it just run a new length?

Yes you can and provided it's not at flexing joint it will be fine. (Stagger the cable lengths so each joint is in differant place this way you won't end with big fat joint)Quote:

I was wondering (not a recommendation) about heat shrink solder connectors, a foil wrap and ordinary heat shrink as a cover.
Just solder together or connect with short piece of wire and Shrink wrap over top.!Quote:
