Hi all
any ideas how to do a fix . My cnc has been turned off for about 12 months due to personal circumstances and now i am back at it , so turned it on and everthing works but the machine aint moving , the steppers are exited and i write a program and it loads to mach 3 but i can not do anything with the machine ( jog ) nothing has been changed or anything it just wont move now any ideas anyone
please.
Have you checked that there is power to the control unit and steppers?

Yes there is power to the unit as the machine fires up ok and the stepper motors are all locked ready to work
Is the esto button flashing?

Yes the estop is flashing
in my mach3 when i load mach3 a window comes up asking me what port i want to use it has never done that before and i have tried using every port but still no movement
What motion controller do you have? Parallel port? If the estop is flashing try clicking on it
Just clicked on the estop and still no movement .
When i load mach3 a window comes up that says YOUR SYTEM IS SHOWING MORE THAN ONE CONTROL DEVICE PLEASE PICK THE ONE YOU WOULD LIKE THIS PROFILE TO USE.

What sort of data cable and where is it connected? But try selecting the second.
USB type , just tried selecting the second one and nothing still . i have tried putting the cable into every port but no luck and yet if i plug in the keyboard and mouse into the same ports they all work fine
Do you have the manual? IIRC you may need to select the USB one, clock OK, then restart Mach for the change to take effect. READ THE MANUAL!
