Re: flood damage to trannys,,, any advice

We used to dry them out in an oven for several days, not too hot obviously just enough to drive the moisture out. Make sure any surface dirt has been wiped away around terminals otherwise surface...

    Hi all

after doing some nice work on my little CNC plasma table, I have now got a job which uses all of its travel capacity.

The steel is a bit bowed, probably max 4-5mm variation so not too...
  5. Re: advise options needed on laser upgrade/add on

I have heard rumours of people managing to cut steel paste mask stencils with 120 Watts but the surface had to be dulled down first. I have no idea about engraving stone. When I think "laser cutting...
  6. Re: advise options needed on laser upgrade/add on

I don't know much about lasers (have had a 900x600 60W machine for about 3 years now and have never managed to set it up!!!), but if converting a commercial cnc router I would have thought it best to...
  7. Re: advise options needed on laser upgrade/add on

The laser assembly could be mounted on the machine without any problems. This takes away the need for long flight tubes, beam paths and alignment issues.
What materials and thicknesses are you...
  8. Re: advise options needed on laser upgrade/add on

Here are some basic answers to get you started. You do not want to move the tube. CO2 laser tubes are large, fragile glass things and require inconvenient things like 25kV and water chiller pumps....

  10. Re: www.machineryandelectrical.com - AR1200

Well no one with any sense would go to the expense of buying a motion control card and running nasty cheap drives or Breakout board with them.! Equaly no one would buy servo's and run them with a...

I use the Russian PLCM-E3 from Zapp and yes I did have a small problem with it. The controller worked fine (I use a slaved axis)

Ahh right, well I dont know about double the money you would more than likely get a more powerful tube and so on, you seem happy enough to give it a try, I know John S purchased one rather than build...
  15. Re: Help needed, advice on dismantelking baring holder/ballscrew

Gunk might be useful for the cleanup too ?

With regard to the voltage, you need to find out what voltage each component is rated at. The spindle motor and VFD will be the first to look at, the...
  16. Re: Help needed, advice on dismantelking baring holder/ballscrew

This is the best video I think showing how to repack a ball nut, it worked for me no problem. It also shows the idea magicniner mentions to keep the balls in.

    Linearmotionbearings C7 Ballnut...
  17. Re: Help needed, advice on dismantelking baring holder/ballscrew

Those four bolt heads holding motor look like could be eccentric cams to me.? Those will be whats used for tensioning the belt if there are no other signs of tensioning.
  18. Re: Help needed, advice on dismantelking baring holder/ballscrew

That's looks virtually identical to our Morbidelli. I didn't realize that they are apparently the same company, or one is the parent company of the other.

I would think that you can push the head...

    Thoughts on Deskproto/Mini Review

    Hi All,
    .
I have been having a play with DeskProto for the last couple of weeks, as I was getting frustrated with Vectric 2D and 3D's lack of features and some "unsafe" practises. So I thought I'd...
  23. Combined CNC Engraving Technologies. Spindle + Laser

  25. Re: Closed loop Step Servo Drive Driver 2HSS86H + 4.5N.M Motor + Encoder

A Vector drive will give full torque at zero speed, but with an asynchronous motor not a servo or stepper.
Have a read, look at the vector drive section....
