I can't remember of hand what language Mach 4 uses, but it's not the same as Mach 3.
Mach 3 used a form of basic, whereas Mach 4 uses a scripting language of some form. -

If you are spending all that much on the motors and drivers, then I would go for a proper motion controller not a Parallel port BOB.
