    I think the only way to do that is to get the entire assembly off the machine.
    There are screws behind the head.
    Bring the head all the way up.

    Why not make your own? I made 2 so far... Just get a manual rotary table of eBay (RDG do them cheap).
    Replace the handle with a T5 pulley, add a belt and a stepper. Done !

    Yes, white primer on top of Red oxide is fine... Just mke sure they are of the same brand. I had a bubled paint problem painting different brands on top of each other.
