  1. Re: MSD043A1XXV Panasonic AC Servo Driver 400w - MB3 connection help

https://industrial.panasonic.com/content/data/MT/PDF/MINAS-Xseries_manual_e.pdf is my "source of truth" here - please confirm yourself that it's applicable to your servo drive.

    From that link,...

Re: Panasonic MSD043Axxx Servo Driver pin outs????

No problem, Servo manuals are not the clearest of things, and if you are not used to these things it's not always obvious. The good thing is your sorted now.
  3. Re: Panasonic MSD043Axxx Servo Driver pin outs????

Use a meter to identify the Gnd pins, this should hopefully determine the layout.

Re: Lynx SM 16 wiring anomoly - help

Connect A0 to pin 3, AG to pin 4. Leave pin unconnected.

Wrt = with respect to. A voltage is the potential difference between two points, not necessarily always to ground or 0V, you could look...

Re: Lynx SM 16 wiring anomoly - help

It's written to confuse. My interpretation that I'm very comfortable with:

"Potentiometer 10k minimum" : There are other on-board controls to set the minimum speed and I guess they don't want to...

Re: Lynx SM 16 wiring anomoly - help

Typically on an AC contactor of this size, you'll have a Pickup rating of around 70Va with a Holding Va of about 8-10. So on 230vac, you are looking in the 0.4a range at worst on start-up and far...

Re: Lynx SM 16 wiring anomoly - help

While it's not technically correct it won't do any damage because it's AC. However, for the 1 min, it takes to swap it over then I would do so just to save any confusion.
  8. Re: MSD043A1XXV Panasonic AC Servo Driver 400w - MB3 connection help

Fuse?, a transient voltage suppressor (TVS) is not intended to protect in the manner that he orchestrated.

The servo inputs, apart from the step/dir, are intended to be driven by the 12/24V...
  9. Re: MSD043A1XXV Panasonic AC Servo Driver 400w - MB3 connection help

Yup, like Kitwn said earlier - the beauty of open-collector drives is in the ease (and general robustness) of interfacing.
  10. Re: MSD043A1XXV Panasonic AC Servo Driver 400w - MB3 connection help

The differential lines are - not clear admittedly - intended to show the interconnect between your control system (MB3 in your case) and the servo controller.

Ah, sorry, didn't realise the MB3...
  11. Re: MSD043A1XXV Panasonic AC Servo Driver 400w - MB3 connection help

Page 13 of the servo controller manual tells you all you need to know about the step/dir interfacing. It recommends a differential drive from the control system, but it's not required. You can use a...
