Machine was working so doubt it will be Charge pump unless the Parallel port as gone Tits up.! (Which does happen)

Depending upon configuration E-stop can be caused by:
Pressing e-stop button(s) - but you've checked this
Hitting one of the X, Y, or Z limits at the end of travel

Start with the PC side:
-LPT cables- the most likely culprit. had many times problems, check them with multimeter -fine, later problem. basically change the cable to check

That will be the problem, the standard MDF will always fur as the core of the material is not dense enough for routing to a good finish, you will need something like medite MR or MRND teh MR...
